Race to have a grand opening

Hottest film of the season, Race, is looking at making a big announcement on its arrival. If sources are to be believed, the film would release at not less than 700 prints just in India. This would make the film one of the biggest releases ever.

When contacted, Ramesh Taurani of Tips did confirm the big plans for Race. "We are quite confident about our film. Looking at the kind of buzz Race has generated, we are going all out in its publicity and release. We are definitely arriving at 700+ prints," says Taurani.

Race comes at a time when Bollywood lovers have been literally starved of any commercial film hitting the screens. Since the arrival of Jodhaa Akbar (on February 15, 2008), no new film has released with an exception of Black & White. However, this experimental film by Subhash Ghai hardly succeeded in enticing the audience that has been desperately waiting for something bigger and more commercial.

"Abbas Mustan have come up with a pakka commercial entertainer in the form of Race so I am sure audience won't be disappointed", says Taurani confidently, "There are elements of suspense, intrigue, drama and lots of action which would have something exciting running on screen all the time. Moreover, the music of Race has been topping the charts all over so that's a great sign too."

Tell him that 'Sexy Lady' is turning out to be most popular of the lot while surpassing the response generated by three other chartbuster songs by Pritam - 'Pehli Nazar Mein', 'Zara Zara' and 'Race Sanson Mein' - and he smiles, "We have managed to hit the right spots with the film's music. Now it's time for the film to do the talking as well."

Race is the biggest multi starrer ever by director duo of Abbas Mustan. Though they have worked with several big stars in the past, this is for the first time that they have six mainstream lead actors on one single platform. They have worked with Akshaye Khanna and Bipasha Basu in the past but this is for the first time ever that they have roped in Saif Ali Khan, Anil Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Sameera Reddy.

"As is always the case with an Abbas Mustan film, here too every character has an integral part to play in the film. Be ready for some surprises coming your way because you actually don't know what is in store for you," concludes Taurani.
